DRIVER RULES
|
| Must be 18 years of age to run in the open class,45 yrs to run seniors class,16 yrs & parent signature or older for stock class or FWD class. |
|
|
Must
|
|
| Protective head gear,long sleeves & long pants are mandatory and must be worn on the track, even during hot laps;neck rolls and fire suits are highly recommended. |
|
| After having registered,driver has waived all rights to claim in case of injury received entering,on the track,or in the pit area. |
|
| All cars must be in pit area 1 hour prior to start. Any driver showing up late will be placed in a heat at official's discretion. Pits open at 4:00 pm. Race starts at 6:30 |
|
| Must have a place to hook a chain in front AND back of your race car in all classes. {tow hooks} |
|
| Mandatory enclosure in drivers compartment of all electric,fuel,transmission,&coolant lines in rubber hose or steel pipe. |
|
| Wire screen or window nets are mandatory on drivers half of windshield and drivers door. |
|
| Racing window net is required on the drivers side door. No wire screen or plastic netting will be allowed. |
TRACK RULES : Officials Decisions are Final
|
| All cars must stay on traveled portion of the track. If your car goes off the track, slow down and re-enter the track as close to the place of leaving as possible and do not pass any cars off the track. |
|
| Cars are allowed on the track only while racing or hot laps as directed by the officials. |
|
| Cars are not allowed to pit during the race. Any car leaving the track before the end of the race,unless yellow light is on, will be disqualified for the remainder of the nite. |
|
|
No work is allowed to be done on the cars once the race has been
started.
|
|
| All cars must run in a heat race, taking a green flag to be eligible for the main event. |
|
| No substitution of drivers or cars will be allowed once car has been inspected. |
|
| Must take a lap on the track that night in order to earn attendance points. |
|
| Running on a flat is only allowed in a main. Once the tire falls off, you will be given the equipment flag regardless of the position you are in. |
|
| If your car is smoking excessively under green, according to officials discretion, you will be equipment flagged. |
|
| If a car is assisted by an official vehicle or staff, you will be considered out for that race,unless it's a rollover. |
|
| Both bumpers must remain on at all times or you will be equipment flagged. If any portion of the bumper touches the ground, you will be equipment flagged for that race. |
|
| Ignoring Flags-If you choose to ignore flags, you will lose all points(except attendance) and money for that night. |
RACE RULES : Officials Decisions are Final

|
| In case of an accident before completion of the first lap,race will be restarted with all cars in orignal position. |
|
| If accident occurs after first lap,the race will be judged by spotters. |
|
| Cars involved in the accident,if still running and not blacked flagged, will be allowed to rejoin the race at the end of the pack. |
|
|
|
|
|
BLACK FLAGS :
1. Heat races -If given a black flag, you are done for that heat race. You may advance to a consey, in last position only. NO WARNINGS!! 2.Consey/main - If given a black flag, you are done for the night and it will carry over to the next race. You will start in the back of the heat.
|
|
| Only officials are allowed on the track during and after the races. Drivers, pit people and family coming onto the track will not be allowed at the next event if violated. |
|
| Any car found to be in non-compliance in the officials opinion, even after tech inspection and allowed into the pits, will be disqualified. If protested during the races, track officials will recheck the car. Cars that are disqualified will not be allowed to participate in other heats, conseys or mains and will forfeit all points, money and entry fees. |
|
| If less than 2 laps remain from the completion of the race and a red flag occurs, we will score based on last completed lap,but will run a green, white and a checkered to finish the race. |
|
| Disqualification - if disqualified during an event, you will get attendance points only- no monies will be paid out or other points awarded. |
PIT RULES , PIT PASS MANDATORY

|
|
|
| ALL PERSONS IN PIT AREA WILL FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS OF THE PIT STAFF,NO EXCEPTIONS!!! |
|
| Pit area will open 4 hours prior to the start time the day of the race. |
|
| All cars must be in pit area 1.5 hours prior to start. Any driver showing up late will be placed in a heat at official's discretion. |
|
| One tow vehicle & race car allowed in pits - No spectator vehicle. |
|
| No racing or ramming around in the pit area. |
|
| Once teched in,a car will not be allowed to leave the pit area except to enter/exit the race track during designated races. If this occurs you are disqualified for the night.No points or money will be awarded. |
|
| All persons in pit must be 16 years of age or accompanied by an adult and have a pit pass with them at all times. |
|
| Persons receving a pit pass are advised that by doing so they have waived any right to claim injury while in the pit area or track. |
|
| All cars must be removed from the pit area within 2 hours after the main event or become property of the DALLAS COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS.Valid entry receipt must accompany cars removed. |
|
|
|
|
| Drivers are responsible for the people in their pits and their families. Penalties will be disqualification for that night as well as the next race. |
STOCK CLASS CAR RULES
|
| Stock will mean stock unless otherwise stated in the rules. If it doesn't say you can do it, that means you can't. |
|
| Dallas County Fair Officials have the right to refuse any car. |
|
| All glass and trim must be removed. No mirrors. |
|
| Car body must be in factory stock appearance. |
|
| Factory firewall, floor pan and rear firewall all must be left in stock positions. |
|
| Must have stock A-frames, stock shocks and stock springs. No racing shocks. |
|
| No weight jacks or spring blocks. No ballast allowed. |
|
| May mix rear ends. Example: Ford 9" in a Chevy car. |
|
| Rear ends may be welded. It is mandatory that Driveshafts be painted white. Must have front and rear drive shaft loops.All mandatory. Rear safety loop can be chain, no smaller than 1/4" chain with 1" links. |
|
| Engine must be strictly stock for that make/model and in its original mounts. Air cleaner and element must be in place. Only 2-barrel carburetors with cast iron 2 barrel intake only . 1/2" adaptor plates will be allowed. 1" Phenolic carburator adapter plates only. |
|
| No center dump exhaust allowed. No headers. All exhaust must be under the car. |
|
| Motors must be cold to touch,pull 17 inches of vacuum at 1000 rpms, using DCF equipment. Must have 1/4 inch port off of intake. Hose must be assessable from drivers side window door post. |
|
| MAXIMUM CYLINDER COMPRESSION OF 175 LBS AT ANY TIME [ZERO TOLERANCE] |
|
| All automatic transmissions must have working torque converters. No stall converters. |
|
| Transmission coolers must be in radiator or in front of radiator only. |
|
| Ford and Chevy motor --366 cubic inch maximum. Chrysler only, 375 cubic inch maximum -- NO BIG BLOCKS. Valve cover and 2 rockers will be removed to pump motor upon tech officials request. |
|
| No roller rockers, no roller tips or roller cams. |
|
| No porting and polishing. |
|
| Must be factory heads with stamp. Cast iron only. |
|
| OEM ignition only - no MSD's or Excel. |
|
| Will allow small hoop 6 inches behind rear tire, 3 inches from rear trunk wall not to exceed .095 thickness, between outside of frame and inside rear quarter panel. Can not bolt inner fender to outer fender front or rear. |
|
| Oil filter and body must be in stock position. |
|
| No set back cages. Seat must be in stock drivers position. |
|
| Full 4 point cage, door to door, firewall to firewall is required. Inch and half or greater pipe, .095 or greater thickness is required. Three drivers door bars or more are mandatory. Fuel cell protection to the rear of the car only. Must stay inside frame. |
|
| Any welding on drivers side is allowed between front and back tire for drivers protection. Only door seams on passenger side may be welded. All doors must be chained or welded. Rub bars allowed on each side between wheel openings only, no bigger than 1x2" tubing/bar, ends must be tapered, smooth and securely fastened. |
|
| Hood & trunk must be chained or pinned. Must be able to look in both. 2 - 6x6 inch holes are required in hood for fire safety. |
|
| Bumpers may be welded on each side with 3 inch x1/8 inch strap (cap) not exceeding 12" in length. Must be a stock bumper.[no channel iron allowed] Plastic nose cones allowed over stock bumper. Must be able to inspect front radiator. 2 -6" holes recommended. Tow hooks are mandatory in front and rear and must be visible from a standing position. |
|
| Radiators in stock mounts only. Radiator supports can only have 1/8" tubing in a hoop where original was. Nothing more than a wire screen or stock grill in front. May have 2 straps, like seat belts holding radiator. May have 1 bar in front of radiator not to exceed an 1 1/2 inch in diameter no wider than the frame. Kickers must be in front of spring pockets, not tied to roll cage. |
|
| When repairing frame between tires and bumpers, there cannot be anything used thicker than 1/8" tubing, and no larger than the frame. Must have 2--1/2" holes for inspection front and rear . |
|
| Batteries: recommended to be under hood and moved from original position. Battery may be on passenger side floor board if it is in a steel box with a lid. Must be covered and securely fastened. No plastic boxes allowed. |
|
| Gas tanks: Fuel cell in trunk is mandatory. Must be securely fastened using 2 inch by 1/8 inch steel straps or greater. No stock gas tanks. CAM 2 allowed. No alcohol. |
|
| Seat belts and helmet are required. 4 or 5 point harness is required. |
|
| Numbers must be on a 3 sided, 16"X16", securely fastened to car top. Sign must be white with RED numbers. Putting numbers on door is optional.If number exists on the side door, it must match the triangle.(you will not be able to run without matching.) IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU PURCHASE YOUR NUMBER.ONCE A NUMBER IS PURCHASED, that number will be used for the remainder of the race season. THE FEE IS $20.00 AND PROCEEDS GO TOWARDS THE BANQUET AT SEASONS END. |

| Cars are subject to inspection at any time - and must not be an alternate car. |
|
| Top 5-6 will be re-teched at approved site after the stock main. If tech can not be preformed, attendance points only will be awarded - no other points or money will be rewarded. You must have car running within 2 minutes when asked by a Tech Official. Pit crew will not open hood until authorized by a tech person. |
|
| Driver and 1 pit person only allowed in tech area after main. If more than that you will be disqualified. |
|
| This is limited to stock class drivers only. If you think a car is illegal, you can place a $100 cash protest. If wrong, the driver that is being protested gets $50 and Dallas County Figure 8 gets $50. If you are correct, you get $50 back and the Dallas county Figure 8 gets $50 and the driver who was incorrect will be disqualified for the night. This protest need to be done within 10 minutes after the stock main. Inspection and tear down of the car will follow stock main re-tech. If you refuse a protest, driver will be disqualified for the rest of the year. Driver of protested car, 1pit man and person who protested are allowed in the inspection area. Protests can only come from a stock class driver who paid to race that night. Protests must be made at check-in building. Cash only - no checks. |

| Tires: Beadlocks are NOT ALLOWED. 8" maximum width allowed. |
